India become the 2nd largest exporter of sugar in the world – Announced by the Food Ministry of India

On Wednesday, The Food Ministry of India announced that India becomes the 2nd largest exporter of sugar in the world. They exported a total of 109.8 Lakh tonnes of sugar and increase their export to 57% till the marketing year ending 2021 to 2022. 

The export of sugar is increasing year by year. If we talk about the total export of sugar in the previous year then we can see that only 70 tonnes of sugar are exported from 2020 to 2021, and 59 tonnes of sugar are exported from 2019 to 2020. 

So yes, we can say that the export of sugar is increasing year by year. In terms of money, the Indian sugar industry earns a total sugar export value of around 40,000 crore rupees.  

The country also created a record for producing sugar more than 5k lakh tonnes of sugar in the same year 2021 to 2022.  

At the start of the year, the government set the limit on the export of sugar to 100 lakh tonnes. But after seeing the high demand they increase its limit to more 12 lakh tonnes..
